Chopping, slicing and dicing with a well-balanced and precision knife is every Chef’s dream. Unfortunately this was not the experience of seasoned Chef Scott Staib, as he suffered from persistent tendonitis and carpal tunnel, as a result of the repetitive cutting throughout his career. Staib felt the need to make a change as the limited use in his hand was preventing him to advance his career.

With the help of Scott’s brother, Mike and his father, Len, the team worked closely with the designers at the family's design and machining company and created a knife they hoped would solve Staib's problem. Impressively, after three weeks of using the ergonomically-designed knives, Staib's persistent tendonitis symptoms disappeared. He created 50+ prototypes and sent them to professional chefs, student chefs and culinary professors across the country. Due to the knife’s top-notch construction, the response was overwhelmingly positive, and Ergo Chef was born.

In 2007 Food Network star, Guy Fieri met the Ergo Chef team at a gourmet show as he used their knifes on stage, he brought them home to try and was instantly hooked on their quality and design. In was not long after that Fieri launched his Knuckle Sandwich line with Ergo Chef in 2010. The Knuckle Sandwich line of knifes truly resemble Fieri's rock-n-roll personality and can carve a beast in the kitchen.

Many people have been impressed with the ways Ergo Chef knives perform in the kitchen. These knifes are more efficient than a traditional knife, provide smoother and natural cutting and most importantly, are less stressful on the wrist. Not only kitchen pros have praised Ergo Chef, as their products have been featured in places like The New York Times and seen on The Today Show.
