After years of providing expert advice on marketing, public relations, graphic design, social media, and a myriad of other topics, Alternative Strategies is considering something a bit different. An “alternative,” what have you. Pun absolutely intended.
That said, we would like to take this month's much-adored 4th Spot article and introduce The Flipside, our newly revamped blog! We are all excited to move forward with this venture in sharing our fun side—our “flipside”—with our readers. After so many hours working in, and out of the office, it's high time we present a bit of the lighter side of life. The Flipside is a welcome addition that we know you will all enjoy.
Launched September 19th, The Flipside offers weekday blog entries that cover everything under the sun, from sensible news updates to comical quips. What can you expect to find on The Flipside? Check out our blog schedule:
Monday: The Rundown
The week starts off fresh with the best and worst headlines from the previous weekend. We're covering the oddities that happened locally, regionally, nationally, and worldwide, but presenting them to you and yours in an entertaining manner. Tap into The Rundown and your morning news will never be the same.
Tuesday: The Manual
We're getting down to business, but this time, giving you all a “how-to” Tuesday with the introduction of The Manual, a day devoted to bettering your business sense and your common sense. Wondering how you can prepare for the next time a power outage hits during work hours? Or how you can dress ever so fashionably at work? Then check out The Manual, every Tuesday.
Wednesday: The Lift
It's hump day, and we're bringing you the better side of the hill. Wednesday is a free-for-all that we guarantee will give you The Lift you need. Check in mid-week for a bit of humor, from the latest in viral videos to our own staff members' thoughts about life. You're going to feel a bit better, we promise!
Thursday: The Grub
Thursday, like so many other days of the week, is a great day to eat. Thus we give you: The Grub. If you don't agree, you just might after checking out our reviews of the latest and greatest restaurants, bars, lounges, and happy hours that our city has to offer. Food trends and recipes abound (submissions welcome!) and you can be sure we'll be all over anything that's hot in San Diego.
Friday: The Checklist
If Friday has stepped up to bat and you're still hankering for something to do over the weekend, it's time to check out The Checklist. Read up on the coming week's local events, activities, ways to get involved, and just about everything else. Should you decide to partake, you may just run into yours truly (that means us)!
