featured [Client] Taste of Shelter Island 2012
The Taste of Shelter Island is back for its 23rd year in a row! Mark your calendars for April 17 and make room for plenty of delicious dishes from some of Shelter Island’s favorite eateries.

This annual dining-out event gives San Diegans and visitors alike the opportunity to try some of the best dishes Shelter Island restaurants have to offer at $20 per person. There’s no better way to spend an evening than soaking up the atmosphere of Shelter Island in good company and with fantastic food during this fun-filled event. This year’s participating restaurants represent an array of cuisines, including delicious Mexican dishes from Miguel’s Cocina, fresh caught seafood from The Brigantine, exotic selections of wine from The Wine Pub, island inspired delights from Bali Hai and scrumptious coastal cuisine from the Pearl Hotel. A total of 19 restaurants will be participating, guaranteeing something to please every palette.

Formerly known as the “Chamber Chop”, this event is back with a new name and attitude, but still remains true to its “foodie” roots. The ticket proceeds will go to the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce to support various programs of the Penisula Business communities, including Point Loma, Ocean Beach, Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Sports Arena and Midway. The Peninsula Chamber has been supporting these communities since 1960 by sponsoring scholarships for high school students, providing funding for the Fourth of July fireworks and the Point Loma Summer Concert series, as well as a number of other community programs and activities.

Patrons can purchase their tickets for $20 each at 6pm on the day of the event in the parking lot of The Brigantine, or beforehand at the Pacific Chamber of commerce website, www.peninsulachamber.com. With this ticket, participants can visit all the partaking restaurants and sample delicious “tastes” from the restaurants’ pre-selected menus. Options will include signature dishes, small plates and appetizers representative of the restaurants’ fares. Diners can walk from restaurant to restaurant along the beautiful shoreline or take advantage of the free shuttle service to experience the Taste in maximum comfort!
