Lotus thai

This month’s featured client is Lotus Thai Cuisine. With a menu honoring recipes from Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Southern Thailand, along with locations catering to patrons in Hillcrest and downtown, it’s no wonder that Lotus Thai Cuisine has been named “Best Thai” four years in a row by San Diego Magazine.

Stepping through the ornate, heavy doors of Lotus Thai in Hillcrest, the cozy atmosphere evokes the comfort of a traditional Thai home. Rustic wood-paneled walls proudly showcase Tahair musical instruments and artifacts, while a Buddha statue stands guard near the center of the restaurant.

The downtown location in the East Village neighborhood strikes a harmonious balance between urban local surroundings and classical Thai design with its thoughtful interior elements. From business lunches to thriving happy hours, Lotus Thai buzzes with equal parts energy and harmony.

Patrons can find a full range of items on the Lotus Thai Cuisine menu, from Mieng Rice Noodles in a Lettuce Wrap as a starter to more traditional favorites, like Pad Thai and Drunken Noodle. For the more daring food lovers, Lotus Thai provides inventive dishes, like Hor-Mok Halibut. This steamed combination of blended halibut, coconut milk, egg and red curry is seasoned with kaffir lime leaves, bell peppers, basil leaves and topped with coconut milk served in a distinct circular cast-iron pan.

Lotus Thai Cuisine is open seven days a week. Lunch is offered Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner is served Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
