Santa Barbara Wine Country’s famous Bacon & Barrels fest is headed to San Diego this May 30-May 31. Billed as the ultimate food festival for bacon lovers everywhere, Bacon & Barrels presents a VIP (Very Important Pig) dinner Friday night with an all-day festival on Saturday showcasing local chefs’ most imaginative recipes incorporating bacon and highlighting the best artisan and craft barrel beverages such as bourbon, beer, wine and scotch. A portion of ticket sales are donated to the Surfrider Foundation.

The event will be located at Embarcadero Marina Park South and will feature over 140 food and libation booths with all-inclusive tastings from some of Santa Barbara’s hottest boutique wineries and unique, high-end small batch whiskey, scotch and tequila from local artisan purveyors. There will also be a selection of craft beers to taste while enjoying a variety of inventive and unexpected bites from participating chefs.

Exclusive craft beers from Stone Brewing, Firestone, and Figueroa Mountain Brewing; Santa Barbara Wineries including Casa Dumetz, Larner, Alta Maria, Qupe; artisan spirits providers such as Casta Negra, Cutlers and Ascendant, as well as culinary surprises from Top Chef Alum Brooke Williamson and San Diego's best chefs and restaurants. Live music will hit the main stage with Indie favorites, The Stone Foxes and Black Crystal Wolf Kids.

Tickets: Early general admission tickets - $75. Tickets are $95 on the day of the event. Designated Drivers’ admission is $25.

The V.I.P. (Very Important Pig) Experience at Bacon & Barrels

Bacon & Barrels will host a VIP experience for those who take their bacon and spirits seriously. The event kicks off with an all-bacon dinner prepared by Top Chef Alum Brooke Williamson, and includes beer and bourbon pairings by “Dr. Bill” Sysak of Stone Brewing. Co-Owner and Co-Executive Chef of the Hudson House, and The Tripel, Chef Williamson finished second in the ladies only Top Chef: Seattle finals, and has gone on to mentor up-and-coming chefs in the MTV Series, House of Food. Chef Brooke will be creating and executing an all-bacon menu for our VIP Ticket Holders at the underground venue, Bassmnt, and will be on hand for demonstrations and a Meet and Greet!

V.I.P. continues on Saturday with a special lounge featuring local chefs and mixologists preparing their best Bacon & Barrel drink creations. In addition, the newly named Jefe del Porko will be holding court with the Gold Pig award and sharing the culinary specialty that earned the chef that title.
