Grater Grilled Cheese

Sweet dreams are made of cheese, and Grater Grilled Cheese does not dis-a-Brie! Adding to their La Jolla and Mission Valley locations, they are now opening up a third eatery in Del Mar, and Alt Strat is behind the wheel getting their social media, marketing and community relations efforts off the ground.

It all started with the Greengo Food Truck, which got its start in 2011. Chef Gaston Corbala's dream was to bring to our beautiful city that cozy feeling of eating a delicious grilled cheese. And the idea caught on as he moved from place to place, melting the hearts of cheese lovers all around San Diego.

With his mission to "make the world a 'Grater' place, one grilled cheese at a time," Chef Gaston put his culinary experience and cultural background to work, and set out to create grilled cheese sandwiches with a twist. Using locally sourced, organic ingredients, Grater Grilled Cheese serves up specialties that start with the “Basic 5” cheeses to create dishes such as their Puerto Nuevo-Style Lobster sandwich with butter-fried lobster, snow crab and signature Sierra Nevada pale ale chipotle aioli, the Mariachi loaded with soy chorizo, refried beans and jalapeños, and their Carnivore with an Angus patty on artisan sourdough bread. The Grater menu offers over 11 cheesy sandwiches in all, plus a bevy of other entrees including Pomme Frites, salads and deli sandwiches. Other perks include "Kids Eat Free" Tuesdays from 3-9 p.m. (with the purchase of an adult chef creation), and $5 craft beer and wine are served daily.

Stay tuned for the new Del Mar location that will be located in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center.

Alternative Strategies has been hired to manage their social media, public relations, marketing and promote its new locations.

You stay cheesy, San Diego!
