Little Italy’s New Dining Option: Romesco Mexiterranean Cocina!

Romesco Mexiterranean Cocina opened doors in Little Italy last month, making it the second location in San Diego. Alternative Strategies is proud to be a part of the restaurant’s launch and ongoing support of public relations, social media, marketing and creative efforts.

This newest, revamped addition to the booming restaurant scene offers diners an extensive list of tapas, daily specials and unparalleled paella. Visitors can tread the newly tiled floor, scope out the Spanish bullfighting décor, dine at one of the rustic tables and tour the overhauled space. Chef Eduardo Covarrubias and Sous Chef Adan Tintos prepare dishes from Mediterranean countries such as Spain, Italy, Greece and France.

“We want to position Romesco MexMed in our current market and extend further up north,” said Luis Peña, co-owner of Romesco. “We want to keep pushing and sharing our passion for what we consider a new wave in Mexican comfort food for all to enjoy either in a formal or casual setting.”

Dishes on the tapas menu feature Queso Manchego, Beef Filet Mignon Carpaccio, Croquetas Romesco and Cazuelita de Gambas (Shrimp). And their distinct pasta dishes include Saverios Penne Arrabiatta, Baja California Lobster Ravioli, Linguini Pescatore and more. Their award-winning Paella will be served, separating Romesco’s menu from others in Little Italy. Romesco's menu is tailored to allow guest to try a variety of flavors in one visit because of their tapa-sized portions and fair pricing. It's a very colorful menu – not to mention, muy delicioso!

Happy hour is offered Monday through Friday with $3 tacos, $4 tostadas, $5 beers, $6 sangrias, $7 house wines, $7 tequila or mezcal shots, $8 house margaritas and $9 specialty cocktails.

Daily specials include Hora Feliz Mondays, Happy Hour all day; Tapas Tuesdays, half off tapas all day; Wine Down Wednesdays, 50% off all wine bottles; Mexa Thursdays, tacos, tostadas and tequila specials; late night Happy Hour on Friday and Saturday from 9:00 p.m. until empty, and Mexiterranean Sundays, pasta, paella, family-style Mexican stews, Caesar salad and vino specials.
