Bacon enthusiasts, rejoice! The third annual Bacon & Barrels festival returns to San Diego this May 21st and everyone’s favorite strip of savory-goodness is making a big appearance! Our Alternative Strategies team is ecstatic to be representing Bacon & Barrels for the third year in a row, working with the event since its start in San Diego.

Named by Huffington Post Travel as one of “The Top 5 Festivals in California,” Bacon & Barrels is an all-day festival located at downtown’s Embarcadero Marina Park South, showcasing local chefs’ most imaginative recipes incorporating bacon. The event also highlights artisan and craft barrel beverages such as bourbon, beer, wine and scotch.

Bacon & Barrels includes over 100 food and libation booths with all-inclusive, UNLIMITED tastings from some of Southern California’s hottest boutique wineries such as De Su Propia Cosecha, Sextant Wines and Golden Coast Mead. Unique, high-end small batch whiskey, scotch, tequila, gin and rum from local artisan purveyors will include Deep Eddy Vodka, Cutler’s Artisan Spirits and Venus Spirits, offering craft cocktails to complement culinary surprises from San Diego's best chefs and restaurants. Exclusive craft beers will be provided by California brewing companies such as Groundswell, Stone, Telegraph, The Dudes’ and Firestone Walker.

Live music will hit the main stage featuring popular, 1980’s throwback band, The Spazmatics.

Bacon & Barrels is as committed to the community and the environment as it is to hosting an unforgettable event. The San Diego festival will donate a percentage of all ticket sales to support programs that support under-served children through the Create Community Foundation. Bacon & Barrels will also incorporate its proprietary Environmental Event process, with a goal of 95% of all event trash diverted from the landfill.
