Hidden Fish

Alternative Strategies is proud to announce our newest client: Hidden Fish. This 1,000 sq. ft. omakase-only sushi restaurant just opened its doors this month in Clairemont Mesa! Here, guests can enjoy a one-of-a-kind menu in a unique setting. Tucked away and nearly unseen from bustling Convoy Street, make Hidden Fish your next getaway!

Our creative team worked with Hidden Fish to produce everything from the interior design, including the floor artwork and wall décor, to their apparel design. The venue is clean and simple; we’re proud to say our artwork and photography have reflected their vision impeccably. Alongside the physical design, our website dream team built out one immaculate site. Feel free to surf around by visiting hiddenfishsushi.com. The navigation is user-friendly and visitors can get a feel for the space and concept with just a few clicks.

Once the signs were hung and finishing touches finalized, our PR team managed a photo shoot of the outdoor and indoor space, along with lifestyle shots during a client dining experience. These images are used for the website, media outreach, editorial coverage and social media. We have already secured several photos to appear in an in-flight magazine, which is a national publication reaching thousands of readers.

Before doors even opened, the PR team at AltStrat also coordinated and staffed local broadcast coverage, which reached San Diego morning viewers. What can we say? We love to create buzz! Since this omakase-only sushi restaurant is the first of its kind in San Diego, we’ve read a lot of chatter from media after sending out press releases. We can’t wait to hear restaurant reviews once we get media in the door!

Well beyond the California roll and miso soup mindset, Executive Sushi Chef and owner John Hong (Chef Kappa) offers “timed dining” where he and his team create daily menus, allowing guests to try a variety of sushi pieces and taste new combinations. Omakase, a phrase which translates directly to “I’ll leave it up to you,” is a traditional Japanese style of dining where patrons place their full trust in the chef to present innovative and delicious dishes.

With only 13 seats, Hidden Fish truly is San Diego’s most intimate dining experience. Eight spots are dedicated to guests who opt to savor the 30-minute, 12-piece Omakase Teaser for $50, and the remaining five seats for a 90-minute Omakase Premium experience, which includes 18 pieces for $90. Before or after a meal, diners are also invited to relax in the lounge for a glass of beer, wine or sake. The lounge is standing-room only and reflects the intimacy of the sushi bar.

Hidden Fish is located at 4764 Convoy Street, Suite A San Diego CA 92111.
