What Alt Strat’s Been Cooking Up!

Social Media

Can you feel the egg-citement? This month we announced San Diego’s famed Breakfast Republic will be expanding to Hollywood. Organically, this announcement generated a ton of buzz and excitement which resulted in over 2,500 likes and 260 comments! The idea behind this post was two-fold: generate interest based on the headline and generate profile visits by including a link to the article within Breakfast Republic’s bio. Consequently, traffic to Breakfast Republic’s Instagram profile doubled and we generated 267 new followers in just two days.

Design

This month we are working with PB Shore Club to create a "mini brand" for their first annual WINTERFEST, a block party hosted by PBSC to cheer on the Navy in the big Navy vs Army football game! Our goal was to create a cohesive campaign that caters to the Navy team's branding but also incorporates pieces of PB Shore Club's branding, all while still allowing it to be a "brand" that can stand on its own.

Public Relations

Alternative Strategies’ PR department secures hundreds of articles for clients each month, across a range of media platforms including radio, TV, newspapers, magazines and blogs. Over the past month, we’ve had some standout mentions that help spread the word about clients, both locally and nationally.

  • Not one, not two, but TEN AltStrat clients were featured in the new Fall/Winter edition of the San Diego Visitor’s Guide magazine. This publication is printed bi-annually and is distributed to hotels, the San Diego International Airport and travel agencies, and made available to tourists to the San Diego area. Approximately 80,000 copies are printed per issue.
  • Seasonal flavors are often great ways for clients to get featured, and this was the case for client Spill the Beans, whose Maple Blondie drink was highlighted in a piece about fall coffee drinks on HuffPo, with a reach of 22 million readers!
  • Expansion into new markets is frequently a massive undertaking for the PR department, as our media relations team spends countless hours researching new contacts and the preferences of these journalists. This month, we were happy to announce the expansion of client Breakfast Republic into the Los Angeles area, with a 2020 opening in West Hollywood. Time Out Los Angeles shared the news to its 93,000 readers, starting to build the buzz for the anticipated mid-year launch date.
