KRISTINA ZVERJAKO
Media Relations Manager

A former journalist and forever storyteller, Kristina has a true passion for connecting with people. She spent years chasing after top stories and breaking news, while working as a reporter and anchor in newsrooms around the country. Now, she brings her communications skills and multi-platformed experience to the Alternative Strategies team as a Media Relations Manager.

Professionally, Kristina is known for her can-do attitude and appetite for the most eye-catching content. She approaches her tasks with an “audience-first” mentality, knowing the best way to get the attention her clients deserve. Even former President Barack Obama has taken note of Kristina’s work, by sharing some of it on his social media pages.

While most might not pick up on the accent, Kristina is actually Russian and a first-generation immigrant from Estonia. In pursuit of the American dream, she graduated from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Kristina truly believes that the best way to experience any city is by eating one’s way through it, and she can’t wait to make her way to all of the amazing restaurants and bars that San Diego has to offer. When Kristina is not enjoying new culinary experiences at eateries around town, she is most likely to be found at the beach, or hiking with her husband and two rescued pups.

Three Facts

  • I speak solely Russian with my parents at home.
  • I’ve never broken a bone. *knock on wood*
  • I had to be rescued from the rooftop of my car due to rising water when covering historic flooding in Pensacola, Florida in 2014.
