Arantza was born and raised in Bilbao; a northern Spanish city located in the Basque Country. Growing up bilingual in Spanish and Basque, she understood early the power of languages, and became fascinated with the idea of exploring different languages and cultures. Following her passion, she studied Modern Languages at the University of Deusto (Spain) and at the University of St. Andrews (Scotland), and when she was 22 years old, she moved to Chicago, where she graduated with a Master’s degree in Hispanic Studies and worked as an Editorial Assistant for a well-known academic journal.

As a Spaniard, Chicago was a bit of a cold place for her, so she moved to San Diego, chasing the sun (and maybe chasing her husband, too). In San Diego, Arantza has worked as a copywriter, social media strategist and content creator, building her own social media presence from scratch and gaining over 85K followers in less than a year. In her free time, Arantza enjoys working out, going to the beach, exploring new coffee shops and restaurants and just being obsessed with her dog!

Arantza is incredibly excited to be working as a social media manager for Alternative Strategies, and to be part of such a great team. Being passionate about food and content creation and management, she can’t wait to use her imagination, and put into practice all the skills and experience she’s gained over the last couple of years.

Between working out six days a week, making funny videos, watching lots of movies, spending time with family and friends, art and design is always first on the list for Alan.

Alan was drawing as soon as he was able to hold a pencil, and with the encouragement of his parents and friends, he carried this hobby into adulthood.

As his Middle-Eastern family migrated to the US in 2006, Alan was introduced to the world of graphic design in high school and college. His artistic imagination and skills were implemented in all of his design projects, working up to earning his bachelor’s degree in graphic design from SDSU.

Alan would later put his acquired knowledge into personal design projects, starting with his church, and later, professional projects for clients such as SDSU, SDCCD, and many other agencies based in beautiful San Diego.

Alan is always on the pursuit of refining his skills, and nothing gives him more excitement and joy than producing eye-catching/jaw dropping design projects that will inspire others.

Bailey was born and raised in San Clemente, California– a small beach town right near the Pacific Coast. She would often spend her weekends exploring all of what Southern California had to offer with her close friends. In hopes of staying close to the beach, Bailey decided to attend San Diego State University. She graduated from SDSU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and a minor in Journalism Media Studies.

While there, she was granted several opportunities to explore future career endeavors. She joined KCR College Radio and hosted a podcast discussing mental health and meditation. Her position as a Teacher’s Assistant for the Rhetoric and Writing Department on campus gave her novel insight into the developmental teaching process connected to writing. After college, her role as an Entertainment Journalist sparked her love for digital content creation and public relations. Each experience undoubtedly established her adoration for creativity. Whether it be hosting a podcast, writing blog posts, or creating content for social media; she loves sharing her passions with others.

Bailey is ecstatic to be back home in San Diego. In her spare time, she loves trying out various new bars and restaurants, practicing yoga and meditation, watching The Bachelor, and spending quality time with her twin sister and close friends.

She is very grateful to be a part of the Alternative Strategies team, and excited to continue to grow her personal and professional skills in public relations.
